What we’re looking for

As Symbia grows we are looking to expand our network of facilitators to keep up with client demand for our workshops and training. We are specifically looking for experienced associate facilitators in the UK to support our clients with impactful sessions. In particular we want people to deliver leadership workshops and team effectiveness workshops. Understanding team dynamics and having confidence working with leaders is a must.

In case the term 'associate' is new to you, it means you would work as a freelance facilitator on a project by project basis. But we like to work closely with our associates, so if you're a great fit, you will become part of our Symbia extended family and be one of our regulars :-)

Clients come to Symbia because we understand business AND people. Therefore having facilitators who have a good grasp for business and strategy and confidence working with senior leaders and their teams is an advantage. Whilst our sessions are always people centered, understanding the language of business gives us more credibility with our clients. The concept of mental fitness underpins the work we do with teams, meaning we are helping people leverage their inner game (thoughts, mindset, emotions) to enhance their outer game (impact & influence)
All 3 of the below are desired but not essential, but a professional and skilled facilitator with business/corporate experience is a must

As a Symbia associate facilitator we are looking for

Min of 5 years of facilitation experience for corporate teams including:
  • Delivery to all levels of an organisation (entry to senior leadership)
  • Demonstrated experience with facilitating workshops for groups of 15+
  • A native English speaker (or have a near-native fluency in English)
  • Proven ability to facilitate engaging, challenging, and thought-provoking discussions among diverse audiences
  • Skilled in questioning techniques to identify solutions and actions rather than taking a  wholly directive approach.
  • Ability to build a culture of trust and openness where people feel valued and able to make their maximum contribution.
  • Adept in synthesising complex information and topics, often ‘on the spot’ during sessions
  • Skillfully manage group dynamics to create discussion and collective input.
  • Have the confidence and presence to push or challenge clients and teams when necessary (especially senior audiences)
  • Has initiative and is able to quickly assess and propose a plan for action
  • Comfortable experience in delivering mental health & wellbeing content or at a minimum have a personal interest in the topic.
  • Knowledge or familiarity of digital tools as a method of delivery (ex. Zoom, Mural, etc).
Other highly desirable but not essential qualities:

  • Experience in leadership development and/or adult learning either in an education or corporate setting
  • Background in culture change, organisational psychology, human behaviour or related subjects
